Notification has been received from Cornwall County Council that our planning application has been approved. In the 'reasons for approval' the planning officer explained:
"The proposal accords with the relevant Development Plan policies and there are no material considerations which indicate that planning permission should be refused, taking into account that the proposed development would not cause overriding demonstrable harm to interests of acknowledged importance.
The proposal comprises the re-development of an existing brownfield plot which is currently used as the Lanner Band room. The Band and scout facilities are important community activities that support community vitality and social inclusion. The provision of a new building in this location will allow the band to remain close to the village of Lanner but in a rural location such that it does not directly affect neighbouring occupiers. The provision of a larger building will allow the band to make use of their space and provide safe secure storage."
This is a major milestone in the project which now enables applications for grant funding to be submitted.
