Good show at Torquay!

The main band traveled to the WEBBA regional championships in Torquay on Sat 14th March 2020. They came across some tough competition in the first section and from the number 1 draw……

The band performed Tom Davoren’s ‘Legacy’ really well, intelligently directed by the bands MD, Aaron Harvey which gained them a very respectable 4th place overall, out of 18 bands.

It was the first time at this contest for some of our players. Huge congratulations to Rob (2nd Euphonium), Bromwyn (Solo cornet), Caroline (2nd cornet), Morgan (3rd cornet), Sam and Tom (Percussion).

Also a huge thanks must go to Barrie Buist for coming in to cover the 1st trombone part while our regular player Lester recovers from an operation.

The band are now taking a break from the bandroom in light of the current coronavirus outbreak, but areĀ  planning and looking forward to other concerts and events which are scheduled later in the year. Sadly some events have been postponed due to the current situation, but we are keeping everyone safe as possible and hope to be back up and running again soon…….
