2nd Cornet

Lee Rouse

Lee has been with the Band since he started to play the cornet at the age of 8 and is the longest serving member of the band. He started as all cornet players do on 3rd cornet and after a lifetime of playing on the front row took the decision to bolster the back row and give younger members the opportunity to progress.

In his early days he also attempted to play soprano but returned to cornet through his own choice. He has on one occasion been trusted to play principal cornet on the contest stage but after the experience decided that once was enough.

He has also held most positions on the Band Commitee and is presently the Bands Chairman as well as the Academy Manager.  Lee is both a Trustee and Life Member for the Band.
